(continued on marriage)This leads to having a home the way God intended it to be. Home is not where you "hang your hat", it is where your heart is! 1Timothy 4:12 states we are to be an "example of the believers in word, conversation, charity(agape love), spirit, faith, and in purity." These words give a biblical definition of morality. Titus also emphasized this in 3:3-5 "...in behavior as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine(not intoxicated with anything from this world), teachers of good things, sober(to be disciplined), love their husbands, love their children, discreet(self controlled-moderate as to opinion or passion), chaste(clean-innocent), KEEPERS AT HOME, good(beneficial), obedient to your husband..." (I probably lost some there!) The emphasis I want to make is all these character traits will need to be found in a home of biblical morality. This also involves truth, honesty, protocol, just doing the right thing. The motive behind all this, as well as the husband being what he needs to be to the wife and children, brings a morality to the home! In this hour we must KEEP OUR HOMES! Keep the husband, keep the wife, keep the children, at all cost KEEP OUR HOMES!

(continued on marriage) On this subject of communication, understand that your husband or your wife is a good willed person and by communicating you will break down barriers that have been built up. It takes time especially when they, the barriers, have been there for years. Have you ever cultivated a garden spot? You have to put some work into making that ground useable. Break up the clods that have hardened over the years. The same is in our relationship with our spouse. Spend intentional time together "breaking that hardened ground up." We have access to a lot of ways, text, emails, notes, date night. When you have worked on this it will bring companionship! I'm not sure about you but when we are in a right relationship there's no one would rather be with, MY BEST FRIEND!

(continued on marriage) We all carry baggage, some inherent, some developed. The story is told of the woman who cut the legs off of her turkey to bake it. The husband asked why, she said "mom always did it and it makes it taste better." The family came over for thanksgiving and the husband asked the mother why, she said "my mother did it that way and it makes it taste better", the grandmother came in, the conversation was repeated and the question asked to her, her reply was "it has nothing to do with the taste my oven was too small." One of the areas is communication. I always say "communication is a key", it is a key between employers and employees, parents and children, pastor and congregation and husband and wife. Communication is vital for the husband and wife, Proverbs 18:24 "Aman that hath friends must shew himself friendly...". You must break down the barriers that develop. Ruth 2:3 "...for that thou hast spoken friendly unto thine handmaid...". IT TAKES WORK!
