John 4:24 says, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

In a book I read several years ago, the author defined “worship” as “a daily recognition of the providence of God in my life.” So many today limit worship to a specific time in a church service, or even simply attending a service. But it is much more than that.

Sunday morning Debbie and I went to the community center and worshiped. It was in need of a good cleaning: the floors needed to be mopped, and the carpet and furniture needed to be vacuumed. Ministry and worship are much more than preaching or singing to an audience. When you accomplish the tasks that make those things possible, you are worshiping.

We spoke on “The Benefits of a Blood-Bought Salvation” and had a birthday celebration this Sunday.
