Weekly Tea
Sorry I have fell way behind. The excuses are: company, travel, and i am still getting used to tecnology! That being said here we go.
John 9:4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. The word “work” is defined as “toil, as in an effort,” while “works” means “deed, doing, labour, or work.” If Christ sensed the need to toil and labour, how much more should we, as His followers?
There has been a lot happening in Tea, SD. Those of you who follow us on Facebook already know much of it, but for those who don’t, we will try to fill in the blanks.
In July, we were privileged to attend Savannah Holy Church of God’s camp meeting, as well as services in several churches. In July, we also had a Marriage Is Honorable conference in Indiana.
August took us to Oklahoma to perform a wedding for Zachary and Jacinda Conners. August also brought several visitors: Mike and Jana McMillin, missionaries to Zambia; Mike and Ladona Blue; and Debbie’s sister and her husband, Rick and Connie Binkley, with Bro. Rick ministering on Sunday. What refreshment they all brought with them!
The church is still doing well, with attendance staying in the mid-twenties. Since Grace Girls Connection ended when school began, we started a Bible study in its place. We had eight attend the first study and twelve at the second, including two ladies from an assisted living facility—one of whom is 90 years old—who walk three blocks to attend. We also have a deaf man and his son attending, which made it challenging to reach him with the Gospel. But God already had a plan that goes back more than 35 years. While pastoring in Kentucky, we were connected with a church in Jonesboro, Illinois. In that church was a girl who would later earn a degree in sign language and marry a man from South Dakota. Though she is three hours away, through technology we are able to preach and sing the Gospel to him. Praise the Lord! He is not willing that any should perish.
